Easter Weekend

I just got back from one of the best weekends ever. I didn't really go out anywhere, just stayed home with my family - but there really couldn't have been a better place to be. When I left Salt Lake on Thursday morning, it was cold and snowy. When I got off the plane in Charlotte, it was 85 degrees and looked like this...

Oh, it made my heart so happy. Every morning, I woke up and something new was blossoming. I'm so glad I got to be there for the burst of spring! Friday night, my sisters and my mom threw a baby shower for me. We had to laugh because last spring break they were throwing a bridal shower for me! Life moves on kind of fast! (Nell, I noticed after I put the picture on that you were making your weird squinty face - haha, love it. And Tiff - you look amazing!!)

My best girls from highschool, Erin, Steph, and Elisabeth, were there at the shower. It was so much fun to sit around and just chat after the shower was over. I love them so much! I am so proud of each of them for the accomplishments they have made and can't even express how blessed I feel to still have them in my life.

On Sunday, we had breakfast at TJ and Moo's house and then watched/listened to conference. I noticed this on their fridge and giggled.

I hadn't seen these two guys since my wedding, and man oh man how they have grown! Will (the dark haired one) is such a goofball. He walks .... on his knees. It's hilarious. I wish I had a video. And Eli - I love those blue blue eyes and his head of curly blonde hair. He's such a smiley little guy. I couldn't find a picture of Weston, but that kid has some sweet dance moves. Whenever music would come on, he would get this dimply grin and start shimmying. Again, wish I got a video of that!

This was also one of my favorite moments from my trip. McKay was in serious need of a haircut. This is what he looked like Sunday morning when we were over at their house for breakfast and conference...

And this is what he looked like Sunday night when they came over to my parent's house for Easter dinner (which was a delicious lamb roast, mmm)....

That kid was SO happy. Good thing he had Spring break this week so he could sport it a little longer than a few hours.
I had such an amazing time with my family. I love them so much and I feel like that love just grows everytime I see them. I got back to Utah last night, and yes, it was still snowy - but I was so happy to get back and see Mike. I missed him quite a bit when I was in NC and as much fun as it was to visit, I truly felt like my plane ride back to Utah was me coming home. It's the first time in my life that I have felt that way about anywhere other than North Carolina and where my parents and siblings are.
And when I got home, I found quite a surprise! Mike had painted the nursery. It looks amazing AND the walls are magnetic! That's right folks, I can stick magnets on my kid's wall. I love my husband, and I love all that he does to make me happy. How in the world did I get so lucky?

Yes - those are magnets! When I asked Mike how he did it, he said, "I'm not telling. I'm a genius." Love. Him.

I'm so glad you had a good (and warm!) trip! I LOVE the colors in the nursery and the magnetic wall! The babies are so big!! That's funny that Will walks on his knees, our nephew Easton did that too and we thought it was hilarious (and had never seen anything like it!)

Hi Trisha! Glad you found me! Looks like congrats are in order; babies are quite fun. Thanks for your compliments on my two. And I am pretty sure you will get a curly headed one! (After all I have the straightest hair ever and you saw my daughter's insane curls!) I will have to add your blog to my blogroll so I can keep up with you!
