Summmmmmmmmer

Summertime. Mmmm. Just the thought of it makes me happy. As I sat today thinking about my summer, I couldn't help but smile. I think this is the first summer I am actually going to be able to relax. The first summer I don't have to worry about my schedules coinciding with someone else's schedule. While I was at BYU, I took classes during the summer and I always worked at least two jobs. After I graduated, I worked full-time that summer to save enough money to move to Boston. Last summer I tutored at least three students with completley different schedules so I had to plan around that. This summer, I am not working a second job. No. I am going to relish my freedom. Now I realize that I'm sounding spoiled. Most grown-ups don't get summer vacations like mine. I acknowledge that. But that's why I picked the profession I did. Home by 3 every day during the school year and summers open.

I started off the summer season last weekend with an outdoor concert. Seriously, what doesn't say SUMMER better than sitting outside on a warm night listening to good live music? Or for that matter, sitting in a crowded parking lot for two hours after the concert waiting for the cars to move? Because I'm pretty sure I did both last Saturday. Mike and I went to a Tim McGraw concert and it was fantabulous. This was my second time seeing Tim in concert and let me tell ya, he didn't let me down. Not one bit. I also think it makes a huge difference who you go to the concert with. If I would have gone with someone who kinda liked the music but wasn't that into it - lame. Instead I got to go with Mike. He made the concert fun.

Today was a gorgeous day in contrast with the hellish weather (quite literally hellish - fiery and unbearable). I went downtown with Kirsti and her family to J.P. Licks on Newbury St. Ilovej.p.licks. I had a flavor called coconut almond chip. Wooow. If this is what the next two months are going to be like - sign me up.

I will forever think of this when I think of Boston: red brick with ivy crawling over it or green rusted copper awnings.

A little peak at the Public Gardens

I say we totally deserve to be home by 3:00 and have our summers off. We work our butts off and put everything into it! (But do you actually get home by 3:00?)
