Project #1: Sewing Machine Cover
My sewing machine came with the sorriest excuse for a cover that I have ever seen. So I took it apart, used it as a template, and threw together some scraps of fabric. I padded it with batting to make it more protective. This was my very first sewing project and although a little rough around the edges, I am very happy with the results.
I play the guitar, not very much recently, but still, I do play. On the occasion that I have worn the strap, it's always rather uncomfortable. I found this project online, and was excited to put this together. Again, it's a little rough around the edges. I learned a few things while doing this one and if I ever make another, I will definitely do some things differently. But I am proud of it. I am excited to get home and play my guitar and sing songs to my ever expanding belly. I think Jr. likes it when I strum in his face.

Project #3: Fabric Hoop wall hangings.
I saw this on a blog as well. Our house has many rooms with potential for awesomeness. Our downstairs bathroom is one that I've been trying to figure out how to decorate. Mike and I found a sweet picture the other day that he put in there, and I made these fabric hoop decorations with coordinating colors. I love them, and I can't wait to see how they look on the wall.
Mike and I have a room downstairs that we affectionately refer to as our "Music Room". Right now it has an electric piano propped up on two wooden stools. But one day - one day, it will be a real true blue music room. We've started thinking of things we could put in there, and one thing that I have been wanting to do from the start is put up some wall decor that is music themed. I want to frame some sheet music, but I also had an idea to do something with music notes and such. I got out my exacto knife and voila! We have a cool picture to put on the wall with the sheet music. This room will look really cool when it is done. We have a vision, as I said before, and if that vision becomes a reality I can see it becoming one of my favorite rooms in the whole house!

I also made a canopy cover for the carseat, but I sent that home with Mike already. The quiet book was also finished last week. I bound it by inserting eyelets on each page and then using 3 inch binder rings. I'll have to post a picture of that one as well. I am currently working on some wall decor for the nursery. I'm hoping it all looks good when we put it all together!

Life is good, people. Truly it is :)

Oh wow I'm so impressed. I feel the urge to nest but it's so blasted hot here I FEEL it but can't get up to do it after I've worked all day. Plus I can never decide what to do let alone where to hang things and what colors to use. I have two pictures hanging in our house both are pictures of the Savior and both are hung only because there were nails already in the wall. Sad? Yes...but at least I got my priorities straight for "who" goes up first. ;-) Keep up the great work!
Girl! You are out of control. Seriously I envy your creative skills. I don't think I could sew anything if I were paid to do it. I love all your projects!
Also, let's hang out for reals. I'm getting bored over here. Probably because I don't have a sewing machine.
I am very impressed with your nestiness/craftyness! ha. I want a cover for my sewing machine. (ps...you can help me;) I have been working on my living room... and by working on it..I mean buying stuff. lets be honest, I cook not craft! haha. Anyway, I miss you girl and I think you look beautiful!
dates- June 21stmom coming down, June 23rd- headed back with mom. Saturday or Sunday Justin and I are headed back together that week. Due to the fact that my mom has a small car and we have 4 adults and a car seat to fit + stuff. I think it would work out best if you could drive down with Justin and I, and maybe Mike could take you back on his day off? i dunno know, what do you think.
(sorry this is incredibly long)
So so So SO so SO cute! You are amazing. I'm so proud and impressed with your mad mama nesting skills. You'll have a lot to teach me some day!
