All sorts of surprises!

Let's start off with the "Holy crap, I only have 10 weeks left!" pictures. Please excuse my fat face. I recently got on the scale for the first time in a month and a half and had a little moment of emotion when I realized that I have already gained 30 lbs. with this pregnancy. It's normal to get a little fluffy when pregnant, I know and I'm sure that it will be less of a shock with subsequent pregnancies - but needless to say my dreams of only gaining 20 lbs are shot. In the end, who freaking cares. I get a baby out of the deal! I'll deal with my enlarged extremities in the mean time.

Remind me never to pull my hair back again. I feel like I look like a pregnant man child.

Here I am in all my glory. 30 weeks. I'm so glad we made it this far! For a minute there, I didn't think we would see this landmark. Just hang in there baby.

This week I got a package from my mom and sister. My sister, Nellie, made me the coolest diaper bag. Ever. Sadly, I sent it back with Mike to Vernal so I don't have it to take a picture of. I'm sure you will spot it on post baby blog entries. I also received the cutest little flirty maternity apron from my mom. I love it!! I love the fabric and all the little details, and I love that my mom is creative enough to just whip this out of her head after looking at a couple of different inspirations. I have a lot to live up to in the creativity department. I have some pretty amazing examples through my mom and my sisters.

I also got another really cool suprise from my man. I hadn't even mentioned to Mike, but I have been feeling like I am in no way whatsoever prepared for the big event that is going to happen here in the next 10 weeks. I don't have a hospital bag or anything like that. When Mike came up for the weekend, he pulled out two bags. One was a duffle and one was a backpack of sorts. He told me that these were surprises for me. I opened the duffle bag and almost started crying when I saw that he had packed me a complete hospital bag, including:

- soft snuggly blankey for baby, receiving blankets, outfits to choose from for babe to go home in

- a book on nursing, nursing pads, nursing cover

- all my handouts and notes from my childbirth preparation class I went to a few months ago

- baby journals for me to write in

- a bath robe

- lots and lots of maxi pads :)

- a container full of toiletry items for myself AND Mike (I laughed when I saw Rightguard. I was thinking, hmm, I've never tried this deodorant before! Then he explained that he packed all sorts of stuff for himself as well. )

There are still a few things I need to add like a going home outfit for me and comfy clothes, but I was amazed at how thoughtful he was. Don't worry, it doesn't end there.

In the backpack, was what Mike called my "Comfort Bag". I love this man. He packed in there things for me to do and enjoy while waiting for the delivery and for afterward if I am there a couple of days in the case of a c-section. He included:

-skittles, chocolate, gum, rice krispie treats, my favorite little debbie brownies - and then in case I want to be a little bit healthier - 100 calorie cookie packs (he definitley knows I have a sweet tooth!!!)

- movies for me to watch

- a new book for me to read

- card games to play

- a crafting magazine

Bottom line - I love my husband. He knows how much I love surprises and he knows what makes me happy. I love that he spent time and thought on this. I love that he is so excited for this next step in our lives. I love that we are an eternal family.

I'm hoping these next 10 weeks fly by. I am so excited to meet this little man that likes to sit on my bladder all day. I can't wait to see what life with him in it will be like. 10 more weeks!

Trisha you look great! And I can say that because we have exactly the same due date. And to make you feel better I have gained EXACTLY the same amount of weight as you have. I went to the doctor two weeks ago and that's when I saw the magic +30 number. I haven't exactly "watched" what I've been eating if you know what I mean. ;-) So don't feel bad at all. I can't believe there are only 10 weeks left too! I am so excited but definitely don't feel ready. Mike is so sweet to surprise you with all that stuff. And your mom and sister! Wow they are awesome. :-)

T--Do you know how AWESOME IT is to pass that mark in your pregnancy?? You can just take a breath of fresh air that this little baby is developing like he should and doing so good. He has been hanging in there and already playing pranks on you making you feel like you peed the bed? Or pillow I should say? :) hee hee. No but you are seriously so cute..and how sweet of Mike to do that for you.. That is way thoughtful.

How cute is my baby girl? You look amazing. We are marching towards that magic 36 week mark! I am checking out tickets tonight for the week of July 19th. I was thinking, maybe you and Mike could leave your car in SLC when you head back to Vernal and I will just drive over. Anyway, I am so very excited to come out and spend a little time with you with final prep for that sweet little baby. Give Mike a HUGE thank you hug for me. He is awesome and then some.
Love to all three of you...

Well that is about the most thoughtful thing ever! Holy crap you sure made a catch in Mike! Isn't is so comforting to know that he is going to be such a wonderful dad and help you raise a wonderful son. Great husbands and sons are the BEST! I know because I also have one of each!
PS- I've GOT to have one of those prego aprons my next time around!
