Making Salt Lake Home

I just got back from my doctor's appointment and was given some great news and some "it's all about how you view it" news. Great news - baby boy is doing great. He is up to 1 lb. and 13 oz. He's growing and developing perfectly. He even acted all cute putting his little hands up to his tiny cheeks. Man, do I love him. The "it's all about how you view it" news is that I will need to stay in Salt Lake for another 7 weeks - until I'm around 34 weeks. Here's why. I could potentially go home today and everything could be fine. However, if I went home and everything were not fine, my baby would have to be delivered rather quickly, and then life-flighted to Salt Lake. I would have to stay in Vernal and recover before making the trip out to see him in the NICU. If I stay in Salt Lake for another 7 weeks, at least I can be with him from the get go if something happens. At this point, who knows how far I will go. I'm praying full term. But if for some reason, that's not the case, I need to be where the outcome will be best for this babe. It really is all about how I approach it. I choose to be positive and hopefully use this time to better prepare for the huge life change that will be here in just a few short months. I couldn't ask for a better situation as far as where I am staying and how close I am to people that I love. Mike's parents have been absolutely fantastic, and I appreciate them so much for all they have done for me these past few weeks. I am so blessed.

So I'll be here in Salt Lake, away from my hubby, and incubating this baby until his time has come. I love Mike even more for making the drive out to see me on the weekends. He's one incredible guy, and I feel so blessed to be married to him. Now that I know where I will be, I'm open to suggestions on how to fill my time :)

T. Best of luck with everything. So glad things are going well.... although I know it can't be too fun living from Mike. It's only a few weeks right?!

I'm glad to hear that everything is going well but I can imagine it is a bit frustrating to be separated from your hubby. I hope these next seven weeks go by fast. Just an idea, have you ever done indexing on the family history website? I just taught myself how to do it a few weeks ago and it's SO easy. It really makes you feel like you are part of doing family history because you are making names available to those looking for their ancestors. Check it out on the church website.

Sweetheart, I love the idea that Kim gave. We are really encouraging our Sisters here to get involved with indexing. It is a great and flexible way to give service.

Well I certainly will miss you, but your exactly right, the best thing you can do is what is best for the baby. this will be just a small moment. Yay for amazing husbands. let Mike know that he can call us when he is bored, and we need to take him fishing! I wish I had ideas for you to pass the time- hey you could make a quilt ;)call me if you are ever bored.

Our babies are worth all we go through to get them here. Glad to hear you are doing better though. I thought quilts for baby and lots of them. Maybe you could take up knitting. Lots of cool stuff you could make for baby! Love you.

Hey there Trisha! I'm glad to hear that everything is going well, I know it has to be so hard being away from the hubs, but I'm glad that your baby will be safe if he needs med. care! I can't believe how many people I know (inc. myself) that are due right around july-august time frame. Good luck with the home stretch!
