8 months!!

Holy crap. I know I always say that about how old Sam is getting, but really? 8 months? Where did the time go? The past 8 months have been awesome, and we love this little man so much. He seriously brightens my day every day.

At 8 months Sam is....
1. Rolling everywhere!  He can easily get anywhere he wants to go by rolling and pivoting.  He's on the verge of crawling and will get on his hands and knees and just rock and look up at me with a big ole goofy grin on his face.  Oh man, we're in trouble!

2. He's starting to feed himself.  At first he would pick up a fist full of food and get frustrated because he didn't realize he had to open his fist to get the food.  But now, he's getting the hang of just picking up pieces with his fingers.  I cheer every time he gets the food in his mouth himself, and I think he likes it :)

3. He LOVES to eat.  He'll scream at us still if we don't feed him fast enough.  He'll eat 6-7 oz. of baby food at a time.  Crazy little guy.

4. He's cut back to nursing only 3 times a day, and he's down to two naps.  He's still sleeping like a champ at night, 11-12 hours at a time.  Gotta love it.

5.  He is the MOST ticklish child I have ever met.  You barely have to touch him and he bursts out laughing.

6. I can tell he's pooped his pants during his nap when I go in his room and he's on his hands and knees in his crib, rather than his back.  He doesn't like sitting in his mess - who would?

7. He's still spitting up quite a bit, and it's pretty nasty when I've just fed him his squash and it comes back up.  But he'll do it with a smile on his face - which I am learning is typical of this kid.  Always happy.  The doctor said that as more solids are introduce, the spitting up will become less.  So far this isn't true, but we'll see.

He's such a fun, happy little soul.  We just love him so much.

This was at the pool.   He was so tired he almost fell asleep right there on the spot.
This is his favorite position to get himself into lately.  So close to crawling!
He also does this kind of "downward dog" move where he'll straighten his little legs and stick his bum in the air.  So funny.
His first opportunity to wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt outdoors.

And this one isn't of Sam, but I wanted to document that I have now lost all the baby weight.  Woot!  :)

Way to go on the baby weight girl! I'm right behind you with about 9 lbs left and Abby will be 8 months in about 3 weeks or so. Sam is a handsome little guy!

That is so awesome! I didn't loose my weight that fast (at least I don't remember doing it that fast). Sam is sure a cutie. That's crummy that he's still spitting up so much. Maybe it will be better once he's crawling and later walking. ? I love his chubbiness. :)

You rock, my dear! Isn't it the best when you know it is all GONE! And what a sweet little man you have.
