For the past year, I have watched Mike train for races. He has learned to love running, and I am so proud of him. He really is an inspiration. Ever since he decided to run a full marathon, part of me has wanted to get the running bug. But alas, I was pregnant and I didn't want to start something while in that state. Well, Sam is now nearing 6 months, and I'm feeling the need to set some goals for myself physically. I gained 40+ pounds with my pregnancy and have been slowly shedding the weight. Three years ago, I trained for and finished a half marathon. It was such a great feeling and I started training for it having run nothing over a mile in my entire life. My dad teased me after I ran the half, saying that now I just needed to finish and run the other half of my marathon. Well, he's right, I decided it's time to get my running shoes back on.
So in April (on my birthday actually), Mike and I will be in Salt Lake running our tails off. He'll be running the full marathon, and I'll be running the half. I'm so stoked. I even got a new pair of running shoes and have logged 6 miles. It feels good to be active and even better to come home after a run and stretch and feel like I'm on my way to fulfilling a goal.

Maybe we can come cheer you on and look to you for inspiration! I totally want to do the sprint triathlon, also. J and I have talked about doing one for 2011, so... bring on the speedo swimsuit and goggles!
Way to go! My motivation to loose baby weight varies from day to day, in the end I accomplish nothing. So you can run for me too and I will come cheer you on! =)

That is awesome. Good luck training. I have that as an eventual goal too, if only I could be unpregnant long enough :) Good luck in April.
