New York and more snow

Yesterday Mike and I went to New York City to see Wicked on Broadway. It was my second time seeing it and I loved every minute of it. New York was cold, and it was an interesting morning before the show.
We had almost a full tank of gas when we left Mike's house but we went through it and were dangerously close to empty right as we entered the city. We decided that there probably wouldn't be many gas stations close to Time Square (which is where we were), so we should maybe drive away from the city. As we drove away from the city center, where it thinned out a bit, we were surprised to see that there were NO gas stations. The question that we had was, "Where do all of the freakin' taxis gas up? Seriously?" As the search for gas went on and our approach to an empty tank creeped closer, I was getting pretty anxious. Who wants to run out of gas in New York City, have to get out and walk around to ask where a gas station might be, and possibly miss the show that we drove down to see? Not me, I tell you, not me. Right when Mike said, "Seriously, wouldn't it be awesome if we saw a Mobile sign right now," we drove right up to a Mobile gas station. Best moment ever. We gassed up and were on our way. We made it to the show after grabbing a bite to eat. After the show, we tried to get into Serendipity for some of their famous hot chocolate but decided not to wait the hour and a half it would take to get us seated. We opted to head back to Massachusetts instead. It was a great day trip and I got to spend it with my favorite person. I'll pass on posting pictures because Mike posted some on his blog.

On to this morning. I went to bed last night at 12:30 with clear skies. I woke up this morning to 3 inches of snow. Not bad. However the roads were not plowed as I left to drive to church. They were still not really plowed when I left church to drive home. My car was creeping along at a snail's pace and sliding all over the road like that was its job. I was glad to get home safely. It is nuts to think about how much snow we have gotten this winter so far. Even crazier still to think about the fact that we haven't even hit the middle of winter yet. I'm dreaming of warmer days. Really I am.
The church....

Walking to get to my car....

You've got to be tough to live in a place like this.
